Braze vs Bloomreach: Pricing, Channels, Data and AI

Braze vs Bloomreach: Pricing, Channels, Data and AI

Short answer

Choose Braze if your customers live in a mobile app or across apps, web and many markets, and you want real-time, in-product messaging with your data warehouse as the source of truth. Choose Bloomreach if you are an ecommerce or retail brand that wants email, SMS, web personalization, site search and product recommendations on one platform and one customer profile. Neither publishes a rate card: Bloomreach says it starts at $60K a year for smaller brands, billed annually, and Braze quotes a Platform Edition plus Monthly Active Users and Action Credits, with no free plan. Details were read on both vendors' sites in October 2026.

Braze and Bloomreach are both enterprise customer engagement platforms, but they lead with different things. Braze sells real-time engagement across apps and websites, with its own data platform and AI suite around it. Bloomreach sells personalization for commerce: marketing, site search and a shopping agent, all running on Loomi AI. That difference shapes almost every row below.

The short answer

  • Choose Braze for app-first consumer brands (gaming, media, financial services, on-demand, quick-service restaurants) that need in-app messages, Content Cards and real-time triggers at high volume.
  • Choose Bloomreach for retailers and brands with large catalogs that want marketing, search and recommendations sharing one profile and one AI.
  • Price both if you run a store and an app with hundreds of thousands of monthly visitors: the answer then depends on the quote at your volume, not on features.

Pricing and plans

Braze pricing (as of October 2026)

Braze sells four Platform Editions. Braze Go is for early-stage growth teams, Braze Select adds orchestration, security features and user provisioning, Braze Pro adds predictive AI, AI recommendations and message prioritization, and Braze Enterprise adds enterprise-grade orchestration, infrastructure and governance. A contract combines the edition, Monthly Active Users and profiles, an allotment of Action Credits and CX Services. A Monthly Active User is anyone who records a session on your Braze-connected app or site in a calendar month, and you choose whether anonymous visitors count. Action Credits are one pool spent across email, SMS, MMS, RCS, WhatsApp, LINE, KakaoTalk, Content Cards, Banners, webhooks, BrazeAI Agent Console and Decisioning Studio Go; in Braze's example an SMS may cost 1 credit and a WhatsApp message 5. There is no free plan, but there are trials and startup programs. See Braze pricing and our Braze pricing guide.

Bloomreach pricing (as of October 2026)

Bloomreach has no public rate card. Its pricing page says pricing is custom, starts at $60K a year for smaller brands, and moves with scale (audience and catalog size), products (the channels, apps and AI you turn on) and usage (messages sent, searches served). AI agents and tools are add-ons. Onboarding, integrations and in-app support are included, billing is annual, and extra usage is billed separately. Its documentation adds the mechanics for profile-based contracts: billable profiles and monthly unique visitors set the tier of a flat annual subscription and the allowances for events, messages and API calls. The Loomi Platform comes in Base, Growth (the default) and Premium variants with different profile-update and event-storage limits. You can buy one product first and add the others later. See Bloomreach pricing.

One practical difference: Braze charges for activity through credits, so channel mix changes your spend inside the year. Bloomreach fixes allowances at contract time from audience size, so the risk is outgrowing them.

Channels

Braze covers email, push, SMS, MMS, RCS, WhatsApp, KakaoTalk and LINE, plus in-app messages, Banners, Content Cards, landing pages, feature flags, webhooks and Audience Sync, all in every edition. On the web it adds overlays, slideups, modals, inline banners, web push and on-site Content Card feeds. Its paid media partners include Criteo, Facebook, Google, Pinterest, Snapchat and TikTok.

Bloomreach packages channels as apps on top of the Loomi Platform: Email; Mobile Messaging (SMS, MMS, RCS and WhatsApp); Web (weblayers, on-site personalization and A/B testing); Mobile App (push, in-app messages, an app inbox and in-app surveys); and Ad Audiences for Meta, Google, Snapchat, TikTok and Adform. Browser push sits in the platform package, and Enterprise Marketing bundles every app. Then there is the part Braze does not list: Ecommerce Search, category merchandising and an enterprise CMS. (Both offer product recommendations; on Braze, AI personalized recommendations arrive with the Pro edition.)

Automation and journeys

Braze journeys are built in Canvas, a drag-and-drop builder with branching paths, pre-built templates and real-time triggers from live behavior across channels. Every edition includes campaigns and Canvases, experimentation, frequency capping, rate limiting, and locations and geofences, and one experiment can compare 100+ message variants. Braze says the platform runs with sub-second latency.

Bloomreach calls its journeys scenarios: a visual drag-and-drop editor for cross-channel flows, with journey simulation to dry-run a campaign before it goes live, a smart frequency policy, a campaign calendar, vouchers, surveys and API triggers for events like restocks or sports results. Its weblayers can be triggered from the same journey as an email or SMS, which matters if your website is the main channel. If journey depth is your deciding factor, our Braze vs Salesforce Marketing Cloud comparison sets Canvas against Journey Builder.

Data and integrations

The Braze Data Platform is built to sit next to your warehouse. Cloud Data Ingestion syncs from Amazon Redshift, Databricks, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure and AWS S3; zero-copy segmentation triggers experiences from the warehouse without copying data; and Braze lists 180+ partner integrations, SDKs and APIs, automated identity resolution, anonymous user tracking and 100+ segmentation filters. Braze cites ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 Type 2 audits.

Bloomreach keeps the profile inside its own platform. The Loomi Platform includes a single customer view, real-time event tracking that Bloomreach says processes data in under a second, first-party server-side cookies for anonymous visitors, Omniconnect for third-party integrations, SQL reports, imports and exports, and Snowflake imports, with Loomi BigQuery sold as an add-on. Its pricing page lists 175+ integrations, and its product pages name Shopify, Snowflake and Databricks. Bloomreach says it meets ISO and SOC 2 Type II standards.

The short version: if your data team wants the warehouse to stay the source of truth, Braze fits that design. If you would rather the marketing platform hold the profile, catalog and behavior together, Bloomreach does.

AI features

Every Braze edition includes BrazeAI Operator, which builds content, campaigns, Canvases and segments from a description; BrazeAI Agent Console, for agents that generate content, choose journey paths and turn unstructured inputs into attributes; generative AI; Personalized and Winning Paths; Content Optimizer; and Decisioning Studio Go, which picks message, timing and frequency per customer. Decisioning Studio Pro is the fully configurable version, with field data scientists to help. Operator Connect brings Braze into other tools through the Braze MCP.

Loomi AI runs across every Bloomreach product, with predictions for purchase, churn, in-session behavior and best channel, product recommendations and content generation. Loomi Analytics answers reporting questions from a prompt. The Marketing Agent turns a plain-English goal into an audience, journey and creative, and nothing launches until you approve it. The Shopping Agent answers shoppers on your site from your live catalog, and Loomi Connect exposes Bloomreach data to agents built in Claude, LangChain, Cursor, n8n and other tools. Remember that Bloomreach prices its AI agents and tools as add-ons.

Who each is for

  • Braze fits companies from startups to global enterprises (its own description) in retail and ecommerce, financial services, travel and hospitality, media and entertainment, sports, gaming, on-demand and quick-service restaurants, especially when the app is the main product.
  • Bloomreach fits brands it describes as reaching hundreds of thousands of monthly visitors and sending high volumes of email and SMS. It lists retail and brands, iGaming, food and beverage, home and furniture, B2B, hospitality, travel, sports, financial services and automotive.

Limits of each

  • Braze: no free plan and no published prices, so cost modeling waits for a sales call.
  • Braze: editions, MAU and credits interact; forecast volume by channel, especially WhatsApp, before you sign.
  • Braze: no site search or catalog merchandising product, so retailers still need a separate search vendor.
  • Bloomreach: a $60K-a-year starting point and annual billing; it says it is probably not a fit for low-volume programs or teams wanting a free or lightweight email tool.
  • Bloomreach: AI agents and tools are add-ons, and usage past your allowances is billed separately.
  • Bloomreach: much of the platform is built around products and catalogs, so if you do not sell from a catalog, check how much of the package you would actually use.

Which should you choose

Start with where the revenue happens. If it happens on a product site with search, category pages and recommendations, Bloomreach covers more of that path in one contract. If it happens inside an app, or across apps in many markets, Braze is built for that shape. One more test: ask who owns customer data. A data team that runs Snowflake or BigQuery will usually prefer Braze's warehouse-first model; a marketing team that wants one place to segment, personalize and analyze will lean to Bloomreach. Bloomreach publishes its own "Bloomreach vs Braze" page; treat it, like any vendor comparison, as sales material, and ask both to build one real journey on your data before you sign.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Bloomreach or Braze better for ecommerce?
For an online retailer that wants marketing, site search and product recommendations from one vendor, Bloomreach is the closer fit: it sells Marketing Automation, Ecommerce Search and a Shopping Agent on one Loomi AI platform, and its pages are built around catalogs and shoppers. Braze is a strong choice for retail brands whose customers mostly engage in an app or across many markets, but it does not list a site search product.

How much do Braze and Bloomreach cost?
Neither publishes a rate card. Bloomreach says pricing is custom and starts at $60K a year for smaller brands, billed annually, scaled by billable profiles and monthly unique visitors. Braze quotes a contract made of a Platform Edition, Monthly Active Users and profiles, and a pool of Action Credits; it has no free plan but offers trials and startup programs.

Does Bloomreach have a free plan or trial?
No free plan. Bloomreach says it is probably not a fit if you are looking for a free tool or a lightweight email platform, and it bills annually. It offers demos, an ROI estimate and a Shopping Agent demo on your own site instead.

Which has better mobile app messaging?
Both send push and in-app messages. Braze lists more in-app formats, with in-app messages, Content Cards, Banners and feature flags in every edition, and SDKs and APIs that feed real-time triggers. Bloomreach offers push, in-app messages, an in-app message center, in-app surveys and geo-targeted offers as part of its Mobile App package.

Can Braze or Bloomreach work from my data warehouse?
Yes, in different ways. Braze Cloud Data Ingestion syncs from Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, Azure and S3, and zero-copy segmentation builds audiences from the warehouse without duplicating data. Bloomreach imports customer, event and catalog data from Snowflake, sells Loomi BigQuery as an add-on, and keeps its own real-time customer profiles inside the platform.
