Short answer
Conversational marketing used to mean a chat bubble that asked for your email. In 2026 it mostly means an AI agent that answers the question a visitor actually asked, qualifies them, and either books a meeting or hands over to a person with the context attached. The channel has also moved: for many consumer brands the conversation starts in an Instagram DM or a WhatsApp thread, not on the website.
The platforms below fall into three groups, and it helps to know which one you need before you compare prices:
One name you will not find here is Drift. Salesloft, which owns it, now says on its site that it has transitioned from Drift to 1mind for its AI chat agent, so Drift is no longer the product it sells for this job.
Each platform had to run two-way conversations with prospects or customers (not only broadcast messages), offer an AI agent or automated flows, be sold to new customers in October 2026, and document its plans on its own site. Prices and plan names were read on each vendor's own pricing page or help center in October 2026. Where a vendor quotes through sales, we say so. This compares what vendors document; we did not run paid trials.
| Platform | Main channels | AI agent | Best for | Price (as of October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intercom | Website and in-app chat, email; WhatsApp and SMS usage-based | Fin, $0.99 per outcome | SaaS and B2B teams that want sales and support on one inbox | Essential $29, Advanced $85, Expert $132 per seat a month billed annually ($39, $99, $139 monthly) |
| Qualified | Website chat, email, meetings | Piper the AI SDR Agent | B2B pipeline teams on Salesforce or HubSpot | Premier, Enterprise, Ultimate; quoted by sales |
| HubSpot | Website chat, chatbots, email; Customer Agent adds WhatsApp, Messenger and voice | Customer Agent, $0.50 per resolution | Teams already on HubSpot CRM | Chatbot builder free; Customer Agent on Service Hub Professional and Enterprise |
| Manychat | Instagram, TikTok, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, email | AI-powered automation on Pro and up | Creators and consumer brands selling in DMs | Pro $29 a month billed annually or $39 monthly (2,500 active contacts) |
| Tidio | Website chat, email, social messaging | Lyro, from $32.50 a month | Small businesses and online stores | Starter $24.17 a month, Growth from $49.17 a month (billed annually) |
| Gorgias | Chat, email, social; SMS and voice add-ons | AI Agent, billed per interaction | Shopify and ecommerce brands | Starter $10 a month; Basic $50 a month billed annually |
| LivePerson | Web, app, SMS, WhatsApp, Apple Messages for Business, RCS, social | Generative AI and voice bots | Enterprise contact centers | Bronze, Silver, Gold; quoted by sales |
Intercom includes unlimited live chat, support email, in-app chats, banners and tooltips on every plan, and charges usage for WhatsApp, SMS, email campaigns and phone. Its Fin AI agent answers visitors and customers and is priced at $0.99 per Fin outcome; it can also run on top of another help desk.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Essential $29, Advanced $85 and Expert $132 per seat a month billed annually ($39, $99 and $139 billed monthly), plus Fin usage. A Proactive Support Plus add-on ($99 a month with 500 messages) adds product tours, surveys, in-app messages and mobile push. Strengths: mature inbox and AI agent; strong for SaaS where marketing, sales and support share one conversation history. Limits: per-seat plus per-outcome pricing adds up as volume grows, and its center of gravity is support rather than outbound campaigns.
Qualified is built around Piper the AI SDR Agent, which meets buyers in real time on the website, engages inbound leads in the inbox and schedules sales meetings. Its site now carries a Salesforce, Inc. copyright, and it lists integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Eloqua, Outreach, Salesloft, 6sense and Demandbase.
Pricing (as of October 2026): three plans (Premier, Enterprise, Ultimate), all quoted by sales. Strengths: designed for one job, turning website traffic into booked meetings,. Limits: no published price, and it is aimed at B2B sales teams rather than consumer brands.
HubSpot's chatbot builder is free and lets you qualify leads, book meetings and trigger email campaigns from chatbot conversations, using contact data from the HubSpot Smart CRM. Premium chatbot features come with paid Marketing, Sales, Service and Content Hub editions. Its separate Customer Agent is an AI agent that works across chat, email, voice, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
Pricing (as of October 2026): the chatbot builder is free; the Customer Agent uses HubSpot Credits at $0.50 per resolution for messaging and $0.50 per minute for voice, and requires Service Hub Professional or Enterprise. Strengths: conversations land straight on the contact record and can trigger HubSpot workflows. Limits: the AI agent sits in the service product, so a marketing-only HubSpot account does not include it.
Manychat automates conversations on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and email. Typical flows reply to a comment with a DM, capture a lead, answer FAQs with AI, and move a buyer from Instagram or TikTok into WhatsApp to close the sale.
Pricing (as of October 2026): under the pricing model Manychat introduced on March 2, 2026, Pro costs $39 a month on monthly billing or $29 a month billed yearly, with up to 2,500 active contacts, three users, two inbox seats and up to three connected channels; Business and Advanced plans sit above it. Plan availability varies by region. Strengths: the most direct tool for brands whose sales start in social DMs. Limits: not a website or B2B lead-routing tool, and costs rise with active contacts.
Tidio combines live chat, email and social messaging in one inbox with Lyro, its AI agent. It counts a billable conversation as any chat, ticket, email or social conversation that includes a reply from a human agent.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Starter $24.17 a month (annual billing, 100 billable conversations); Growth from $49.17 a month (annual, from 250 conversations); Plus from $300 a month plus usage; Premium on request. Lyro starts at $32.50 a month for 50 AI conversations. Strengths: low entry price and fast setup. Limits: usage-based conversation counts make costs harder to predict during busy seasons.
Gorgias is a help desk and AI agent built for ecommerce, with integrations for Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and WooCommerce. Its AI Agent can sell, support and engage shoppers, and Voice and SMS can be added to any plan.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Starter $10 a month (50 tickets); Basic $50 a month billed annually or $60 monthly (300 tickets); Pro $300 a month billed annually (2,000 tickets); Advanced $750 a month billed annually (5,000 tickets); Enterprise custom. AI Agent interactions are billed per interaction above the plan allowance. Strengths: order data inside every conversation; pricing by ticket volume rather than per agent. Limits: built for stores, not B2B lead generation.
LivePerson's pricing page lists web, app, SMS, email, WhatsApp, Apple Messages for Business, Messenger, Instagram, Google RCS Messaging, KakaoTalk, LINE, Viber and WeChat, along with generative AI and voice capabilities. It suits large brands running conversations across many channels and teams.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Bronze, Silver and Gold plans with prices on request; LivePerson describes them as simple pricing with minimal add-ons and no service fees. Strengths: the widest channel list here. Limits: an enterprise sales process, and more platform than a small marketing team needs.
Start from the channel where your buyers already start conversations, then check who answers when the AI cannot. A B2B SaaS team with demo requests on its pricing page will get more from Qualified or Intercom than from a DM tool. A skincare brand selling through Instagram Reels will get more from Manychat than from a website bot. If your stack already includes several of these channels, the harder problem is keeping conversations, email and ads in step; our roundup of integrated marketing platforms covers that layer, and our list of AI marketing agents covers tools that act beyond the chat window. For the wider engagement stack, see our customer engagement platform comparison and our guide to agentic customer engagement.
What is a conversational marketing platform?
It is software that turns marketing into two-way conversations: a chat or AI agent on your website, replies to Instagram and WhatsApp messages, or SMS threads that qualify a lead, answer a product question or book a meeting while the buyer is still paying attention. Most platforms now pair a live inbox for humans with an AI agent that handles the first reply.
Which conversational marketing platform is best for B2B lead generation?
Qualified is built for it: its AI SDR agent, Piper, chats with website visitors, follows up with inbound leads by email and books meetings, and it works with Salesforce, HubSpot and Marketo. Intercom and HubSpot are broader options if you also want support on the same inbox.
What happened to Drift?
Salesloft, which owns Drift, says on its site that it has transitioned from Drift to 1mind as the AI chat agent for its revenue platform. Existing users still have a Drift login, but Drift is no longer the conversational product Salesloft promotes, so it is not on this list.
How much does conversational marketing software cost?
As of October 2026 the entry points range from free (HubSpot's chatbot builder) to $24.17 a month (Tidio Starter, billed annually), $29 per seat a month (Intercom Essential, billed annually) and $29 a month (Manychat Pro, billed annually). AI agents usually add a usage charge per resolution or conversation, and Qualified and LivePerson quote through sales.
