Short answer
Most marketing teams don't need one AI product. They need the one that removes their slowest job. A team that spends Monday writing blog drafts has a different problem from one that can't get ad creative out of design fast enough, and the best tool for each is rarely the same product. So this list is sorted by job, with one pick for each, the listed price and the limits worth knowing before you sign up.
Here an AI marketing tool means software that does a specific marketing task with AI while a person stays in charge of the work. That is different from an agent, which takes a goal and carries out several steps on its own. Our roundup of the best AI marketing agents covers that category, including HubSpot, Salesforce and Braze. This list covers the jobs:
Analytics is a job too, and it has its own guide: our companion roundup of the best marketing analytics tools covers that side.
Each tool had to be sold to new customers in October 2026, use AI for a named marketing job, and describe its plans on its own site. We read every feature and price on the vendor's own pricing page, product page or help center in October 2026. Where a vendor does not show a US price we could read, we say so instead of guessing. We did not run paid trials, and we left out vendor performance statistics because we can't check them. For a broader list of creative apps, AI or not, see our guide to content creation apps.

Jasper is built for marketing content rather than general chat. Its Canvas workspace is where content gets drafted, and it adds agents for core marketing workflows plus stored Brand Voices, Knowledge assets and Audiences so drafts stay on message. The Business plan adds agents for GEO, translation and deep research, a builder for custom agents, Jasper Grid for content at scale and API access.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Pro is $59 a month per seat billed yearly or $69 billed monthly, with a 7-day free trial; Business is custom. Strengths: stored brand voice, knowledge and audience settings applied to every draft. Limits: Pro includes 2 Brand Voices, 5 Knowledge assets and 3 Audiences; unlimited Brand Voices, Knowledge and Audiences need Business.
Canva Pro adds more than 40 AI-powered tools, Background Remover, Magic Resize and Brand Kits to the editor, and its Pro page also lists Canva AI 2.0 and Magic Layers (turns a flat design into an editable layout). Canva Grow builds ads from your website, pulling in your brand visuals and information.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Canva Free costs nothing for individuals, and there is a Pro free trial. Pro, Business and Enterprise are paid plans; we could not load Canva's US prices, so check the pricing page. Strengths: design, resizing and brand assets in one editor. Limits: Magic Resize, Brand Kit, Background Remover and the 40+ AI-powered tools are Pro features, and Canva says the paid AI allowance is 10 times the Free one.
HeyGen turns a script into a video presented by an AI avatar: a stock avatar, a photo avatar or a custom avatar of you. Paid plans add voice cloning and more than 175 languages and dialects, and Pro lets you edit and proofread translated scripts.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Free is $0 for 3 videos a month of up to 1 minute. Creator is $29 a month ($24 a month billed annually) with 600 credits, Pro starts at $49 a month with 1,000 credits and 4K export, and Business is $149 a month plus $20 per extra seat. Prices were shown in US dollars. Strengths: avatar video and translation in one tool, with a free plan to test first. Limits: paid plans run on credits, and the credits a video uses vary with the AI model, length and complexity; more credits mean a higher Pro tier.
Surfer, one of the Positive group's products, has a content editor that guides drafts with real-time SEO data, and it also tracks how your brand appears in AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Its Surfy assistant helps draft and optimize, and the Pro plan adds 1-click internal linking, content ideas and coverage gaps, and MCP.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Discovery is $49 a month, Standard $99, Pro $182 and Peace of Mind $299, all billed yearly; an AI Search Analytics plan is $82 a month billed yearly, and Enterprise is custom. Strengths: optimization guidelines and a content score inside the editor. Limits: Discovery covers 120 documents, so high-volume teams move up quickly.
AdCreative.ai generates ad creatives, ad copy, product photoshoots and UGC-style videos from product photos, and adds Creative Insights for spotting your best-performing creatives, Competitor Insights from rival websites and a compliance checker for brand and platform policy.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Starter plans start at $39 a month billed monthly for 10 credits and 1 brand, with cheaper quarterly and yearly billing and larger Professional and Ultimate tiers; Enterprise is custom. Strengths: image ads, copy, video and competitor insights in one product. Limits: credit-based, so check how many credits your monthly volume needs before choosing a tier.
Mailchimp presents its AI features as Mailchimp with Intuit Intelligence. They include Write with AI in the email builder for drafting and rewriting copy, send time and send day optimization, predicted attributes for segmenting, and Analytics AI, which explains which campaigns and automations drive revenue.
Pricing (as of October 2026): a Free plan for up to 250 contacts; Essentials, Standard and Premium are priced by contact count. Strengths: AI help without leaving the tool many small businesses already use. Limits: Write with AI is a beta, initially released to a small share of users, that needs Standard or higher and is only offered to accounts with a primary mailing address in Australia, Canada, the UK or the US.
Buffer's AI Assistant helps you create, refine and repurpose posts inside the same tool you schedule with, and it is included on every plan, free included.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Free connects up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. Essentials is $5 a month for one channel and Team is $10 a month for one channel, each billed yearly and rising with every channel added, with a 14-day free trial. Strengths: a low entry price and AI help on every plan. Limits: Free allows 10 scheduled posts per channel and 1 user, and unlimited team members need the Team plan.
Questera is different from the tools above: instead of helping a person with one job, it gives a SaaS product an AI marketing team that writes, posts, makes videos, runs ads and works on getting you found on Google and ChatGPT, then reports back in plain English. You approve work from your phone, and it connects to tools such as Google Ads, Meta Ads, WordPress, LinkedIn, Mailchimp and Stripe.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Starter is free and shows what the team would do; Growth is $49 a month with the whole team working daily, Google and ChatGPT visibility and a Monday report; Scale is $199 a month for up to 5 brands and 5 seats. Strengths: one flat price instead of a stack of tools. Limits: built for SaaS companies, so an ecommerce brand or a large in-house team is better served by the single-job tools above.
Write down where the hours go for one week. If drafting takes the most time, start with Jasper or Surfer, depending on whether brand voice or search is the harder problem. If design and ad variations are the bottleneck, Canva and AdCreative.ai do more for you. Video teams should test HeyGen's free plan before paying.
Watch the billing basis, since it matters more than the headline number: Jasper charges per seat, Buffer per channel, Mailchimp per contact, and HeyGen and AdCreative.ai through credits. A per-seat plan costs four times its headline price once a team of four shares it. And if you want the work done rather than tools to do it with, compare Questera with the agent products in our AI marketing agents explainer. Once the tools are running, measure what they changed; our guide to marketing mix modeling software covers measuring channel impact at the budget level.
What are AI marketing tools?
AI marketing tools are software products that use generative or predictive AI to do one part of the marketing job faster: writing copy, making images and video, optimizing content for search, producing ad creative, drafting emails or planning social posts. Most of them do one job well and leave the rest to other tools.
Are there free AI marketing tools?
Yes, with limits. Canva Free costs nothing for individuals, HeyGen's Free plan makes 3 videos a month of up to 1 minute, Buffer's Free plan includes its AI Assistant for up to 3 channels, and Questera has a free Starter plan that shows what its team would do. Mailchimp has a free plan for up to 250 contacts, but Write with AI needs the Standard plan or higher.
What is the difference between an AI marketing tool and an AI marketing agent?
A tool helps a person do one task, such as drafting an email or resizing a design. An agent starts from a goal and carries out several steps toward it, such as planning, writing, sending and reporting. This list covers tools by job; our separate roundup of AI marketing agents covers the agent products.
Which AI marketing tool should a small team start with?
Start with the job that takes the most hours each week. If that is content and design, a writing tool plus Canva covers a lot. If nobody on the team owns marketing at all, a done-for-you product such as Questera is the other route.
