Short answer
B2B buyers do much of their research before they ever talk to sales. Intent data tries to catch that research: a company reading about a topic far more than usual, comparing products on a review site, or visiting your pricing page twice in a week. Used well, it tells marketing and sales which accounts to prioritize this week. Used badly, it becomes another list nobody acts on.
Many platforms combine several sources. Demandbase, for example, can ingest Bombora topics alongside its own keyword intent, and Cognism resells Bombora intent inside its prospecting data.
Each provider had to supply account-level or prospect-level buying signals, be sold to new customers in October 2026, and explain its data source on its own site, documentation or press releases. We read those pages in October 2026 and quote data sources as each vendor describes them. Prices are rarely published in this category; where they are, we include them. We did not test data accuracy.
| Provider | Intent source | Level | Best for | Price (as of October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| 6sense | Intent plus predictive AI in its revenue platform | Account | Teams buying ABM and sales intelligence together | Not published; demo |
| Demandbase | Bidstream keyword intent; Bombora integration | Account | ABM programs on Demandbase One | Not published |
| ZoomInfo | IP-to-organization and keyword signals; Streaming Intent | Account with recommended contacts | Sales teams already using ZoomInfo data | Not published; free trial |
| G2 Buyer Intent | Research on G2 profile, pricing, category, compare and alternatives pages | Account | Software companies listed on G2 | Not published |

Bombora's Company Surge intent comes from a data co-op of thousands of media destinations, including publishers, B2B brands and data providers, and covers 25,300+ topics. It scores each account-topic pair by comparing the latest three weeks of activity against a 12-week baseline for that account.
Pricing (as of October 2026): not published. Strengths: a documented scoring method, and its topics are available inside other platforms such as Demandbase and Cognism. Limits: topic-level surges say a company is researching, not who or how close they are to buying.
6sense combines intent with predictive AI models, scores and dashboards, and a sales copilot with recommended actions and account summaries. Its Sales Intelligence packages differ by whether they include predictive AI, data credits for revealing contacts, or both.
Pricing (as of October 2026): not published; 6sense prices through demos. Strengths: intent, predictive scoring and activation in one place. Limits: a platform commitment rather than a data feed.
Demandbase describes its own intent as sourced from the bidstream, with individual keywords rather than rolled-up topics, and it can sync Bombora intent topics weekly. Intent then feeds account lists, segments, engagement points, journey stages, predictive scores and advertising in Demandbase One.
Pricing (as of October 2026): not published. Strengths: two intent sources working inside one ABM platform. Limits: most useful if you run your ABM program on Demandbase.
ZoomInfo maps your ideal customer profile against its database to find companies researching topics and keywords tied to your business. It says its intent engine draws on 210 million IP-to-organization pairings and more than 6 trillion keyword-to-device pairings sourced monthly, and it offers Streaming Intent for faster signals.
Pricing (as of October 2026): not published on the intent page; a free trial is offered. Strengths: intent and the contacts to reach in one tool. Limits: its data description is US-focused.
G2 Buyer Intent shows which companies research your product on G2: viewing your profile or pricing, browsing your category, reading alternatives pages, comparing you with a competitor, or researching competitors in a shared category. Each buyer gets a buying stage and an activity level.
Pricing (as of October 2026): not published. Strengths: late-stage signals from people actively comparing products. Limits: only useful if your category has meaningful G2 traffic.
Priority Engine surfaces in-market accounts and named prospects doing pre-purchase research in specific technology markets, based on observed activity of known, opt-in members of TechTarget's network. It integrates with Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua, Pardot and HubSpot.
Pricing (as of October 2026): not published. Strengths: prospect-level signals, not just accounts. Limits: focused on enterprise technology purchases.
Cognism sells Standard and Pro plans, each with five seats. Pro adds verified mobile data, on-demand verification and intent from Bombora's Company Surge to prioritize accounts researching your topics. Credits are spent when you reveal a contact.
Pricing (as of October 2026): quoted by sales. Strengths: intent and the people to call in one workflow. Limits: intent needs the Pro plan.
Leadfeeder, from Dealfront, identifies the companies visiting your website and tracks what they look at. Pricing tiers depend on how many companies it identifies each month, with repeat visits from one company counted once.
Pricing (as of October 2026): Lite is free forever (up to 100 identified companies a month, 7-day visitor history); Discover starts at €79, Activate at €369 and Scale at €599 a month, billed annually; Enterprise custom. Strengths: a direct first-party signal: the company is on your site. Limits: it only sees accounts that already found you.
Start with the question you want answered. "Which accounts are researching our category?" points to Bombora or an ABM platform. "Who is comparing us with competitors?" points to G2. "Which companies are on our site?" points to Leadfeeder. Then combine intent with fit, because a surging account outside your ideal customer profile is still a poor lead. Our guides to predictive lead scoring software and account-based marketing platforms cover the tools that turn intent into priorities and campaigns, and our product qualified lead tools roundup covers the in-product signals for product-led companies. To check whether intent-driven campaigns paid off, see our marketing attribution software comparison, and for predictive models beyond intent, our list of predictive marketing platforms.
What is B2B intent data?
Intent data is a signal that a company is researching a topic related to what you sell. Third-party intent comes from activity on other sites, such as Bombora's publisher co-op or G2's review pages. First-party intent comes from your own properties, such as which companies visit your pricing page, which tools like Leadfeeder identify.
Which intent data provider is the best?
It depends on the source you trust most. Bombora runs a publisher data co-op and its intent is available inside other tools such as Cognism and Demandbase. G2 and TechTarget observe research on their own networks. 6sense and Demandbase combine intent with account-based marketing platforms, and ZoomInfo pairs intent with its contact database.
How much does intent data cost?
Most intent data providers do not publish prices. As of October 2026 Bombora, 6sense, Demandbase, ZoomInfo, G2 and TechTarget quote through sales, Cognism includes Bombora intent in its Pro plan, and Leadfeeder publishes prices for website visitor identification, from a free Lite plan to €79 a month billed annually for Discover.
How should marketers use intent data?
Use it to prioritize, not to replace judgment. Feed surging accounts into ad audiences and sales outreach, combine intent with fit (industry, size, tech stack), and measure whether accounts showing intent convert at a higher rate than the rest of your list.
